Better Way Health Food Store opened its doors in 1996. Owner, Dr. Mary Sabal, DC, RN, sees patients in an office attached to A Better Way in treatment rooms designed for Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and the ProtecSpine System. The rooms can also be used for Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis which takes only five minutes.

Sabal prefers to see patients by appointment for optimal attention and care, however, walk-ins and emergencies are accommodated as much as possible.

Before operating the health food store, Sabal was a paramedic and registered nurse. Feeling the need to further her education into a more natural, common-sense approach to lifestyle management, Sabal became licensed in chiropractic and earned her acupuncture certification while interning in chiropractic school.

While most people are familiar with the benefits of chiropractic treatment for spinal alignment and acupuncture for treating pain, inflammation or stress, some of Sabal’s other modalities may not be as familiar.

“Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can be used to treat symptoms from a stroke, long COVID, brain fog and to reduce microbial infestation. Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis helps to better determine minerals that should be reduced or increased for optimum metabolic balance,” explains Sabal.

“The ProtecSpine System takes place while the patient is seated comfortably and then it uses gravity and patient-controlled traction that helps to decompress the neck, mid-back and low back. It can also be used for shoulder therapy.”
