Elberta Farmer Offers Microgreens and Seasonal Produce at Foley Market

Knievil Farms, a featured vendor at Coastal Alabama Farmers & Fishermens Market, in Foley, is currently selling tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and okra. He also always has microgreens of peas, sunflowers, radishes, cabbage and kale available.
Kevin Johnson, owner of Knievil Farms in Elberta, has been slowly growing his farm over the last three years. While the coronavirus has hurt his sales to restaurants in downtown Pensacola, market sales are up. “We’re seeing less people at the farmers’ markets, but the people that do come are spending more money,” says Johnson, who uses organic fertilizers and natural pesticides.
The year-round Foley market is currently open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays only, until further notice.
Market location: 20733 Miflin Rd. (Co. Rd. 20), Foley, AL. For more information, call 251-597-5557 or visit CoastalAlabamaMarket.com.
