Natural Awakenings Gulf Coast Alabama Mississippi

J. Douglas Brown

J. Douglas Brown, DC, DACNB Neurology, Owner at Mind Performance Center

Treating dementia, resistant depression and brain disorders using Brain Rehab, BrainsWay Deep TMS and Functional Medicine.

When asked about his passion for neuroscience Brown says, “Learning about the new frontier called the brain continues to be exciting!”

Planning a future in medicine, Brown received his BS in biology and then looked at medical schools. In his search, he found many wonderful aspects at UAB but was discouraged because the program included methods to end life with abortion instead of enhanced living. This offended his conscience, so he spoke to a trusted M.D. and mentor whose suggestion was to study chiropractic. At the time, little was known how this method of natural healing would impact people’s lives.

Brown graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) in 1994. Until 1999, he ran a thriving practice but was seeking further fulfillment to expand his knowledge. So, he returned to school and began his study of neurology in both medicine and chiropractic. By merging the two fields, he created something new to the medical community. Now, he has reached his calling.

Brown uses new techniques and approaches to the treatment of brain disorders, including Deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (Deep TMS), which is a noninvasive treatment developed by BrainsWay to help alleviate symptoms related to mental health conditions by correcting faulty brain pathways. While others put a bandage on the problem, Brown corrects the problem. He has awakened patients in a persistent vegetative state and continues to change the lives of children and adults when other professionals turn them away without a cure.

Along with treating patients at his practice in Foley, Brown also lectures about how the brain works, what goes wrong and innovative ways to correct brain issues.
