Healing Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Scars at Jubilee Healing Arts

Jennifer Killgo
"Mary” came to Jubilee Healing Arts in 2015. Her story was that she
was born into chaos through an unwanted pregnancy and believed she had
manifested that chaotic pattern into adulthood as chronic illness. She was
prescribed pharmaceuticals for depression and anxiety, which led to chemical
imbalances. Eventually, it created more chaos and affected her relationships,
careers and livelihood.
Jennifer Killgo, owner of Jubilee Healing Arts is an LMT with
certifications in the Scar Tissue Release and Integrated Therapies (STRAIT)
method. Killgo was able to help Mary work through somatic trauma, gently
massaging the emotions and psyche before touch therapy was used.
Mary told her friends that she got more out of Killgo’s sessions
than she did with any therapist. Killgo was able to provide a safe space. Mary
could drop everything at the door and knew she was seen and accepted, which was
the beginning of her healing journey.
Killgo states that, while she is not a psychologist or a
counselor, her work includes a holistic approach to wellness that includes
body, mind and spirit. The somatic work she does in her practice embodies that
approach.
“Scar tissue work is not just about the physical scars but the
emotional and spiritual ones as well,” says Killgo.
