Virginia’s Health Foods: New Year, New Offerings

For more than four decades, Virginia’s Health Foods has been a cornerstone for natural
health in Mobile. As 2025 begins, the beloved wellness hub is embracing exciting updates. Under the guidance of owner Krissy Little, the store continues its mission of promoting health for the mind, body and soul through a customer-focused approach.

Exceptional Team Leadership
“We’re more than a health food store,” Little says. “Our staff is well-educated and welcoming, offering guidance on supplementation and overall health.”

Leading the way is Celeste Messamore, the new store manager, who brings over 17 years of dedication to Virginia’s Health Foods. Messamore ensures shelves are stocked with the latest, high-quality products while staying on top of industry trends through briefings and webinars. Also supporting the management team is Amanda Mohammed, a staff herbalist with a master’s degree in complementary and alternative medicine, who provides trusted guidance on herbal remedies. Together, their expertise and passion create an exceptional customer experience.

Expanded Store Offerings
Among the store’s new features is an expanded bulk herb section. With an even larger selection of herbs, powders and spices sourced from around the world, customers can find unique ingredients tailored to their needs. Alex Tucker, a team member committed to fulfilling customer requests, plays a key role in building this impressive collection.

Another addition is Virginia’s fresh cold-pressed juices, made daily from organic fruits and vegetables. According to Little, these nutrient-rich juices provide an easy way to boost wellness and are quickly becoming a customer favorite.

Education also takes center stage at Virginia’s Health Foods. Upcoming classes will include introductory sessions on healing herbs and preparing home herbal remedies, offering practical knowledge for families.

As a thank-you to their loyal customers, Virginia’s now holds monthly gift basket giveaways. Customers earn entries by purchasing products from featured brands, with no limit on entries.
“We love our customers and want to give back,” says Little, who warmly invites everyone to stop by, enjoy their signature southern hospitality, and explore all the latest offerings in store.
