Just west of Mobile, Crooked Carrot Farms is more than a microgreens business—it’s a mission to inspire vibrant health and sustainable living. Founded by Tracey Feeney, a passionate advocate for plant-based wellness and food justice, Crooked Carrot Farms was born out of a simple but powerful desire: to reconnect people with real food that heals.
Crooked Carrot Farms sprouted from Feeney’s personal health journey and commitment to whole-food, plant-based living. After experiencing firsthand the transformative power of nutrient-dense foods, she set out to make that same vitality accessible to others—starting with the tiniest plants that pack the biggest punch: microgreens. What began in a small indoor grow space has now blossomed into a licensed, trusted local farm serving individuals, families, wellness providers and chefs throughout Alabama.
What sets Crooked Carrot Farms apart is its commitment to both quality and education. Feeney grows small, intentional batches using organic soil, non-GMO (mostly organic) seeds, and sustainable practices. “These microgreens aren’t just garnish—they’re nutrient powerhouses,” she says. Feeney also helps customers learn how to easily incorporate them into daily meals, from smoothies and grain bowls to sandwiches and salads.
Popular offerings include sunflower, pea, radish, broccoli, basil, cantaloupe and vibrant blends—harvested to order for maximum freshness. “Microgreens may be tiny, but their impact is huge,” says Feeney. “This is about food as medicine, and I want to make that accessible to everyone.”
Crooked Carrot Farms offers subscription delivery and appears at local farmers markets. An upcoming Microgreens Tasting & Wellness Pop-Up will offer free samples, growing tips and giveaways. Details will be announced on social media.
New subscribers receive 10 percent off their first microgreens order through September 15. For more information, call 251-656-4117, email TFeeney@Crooked-Carrot.com, follow @crookedcarrotfarms on Instagram, or visit Crooked-Carrot.com.
