Mark your calendars for a celebration of the beauty and wonder of coastal Alabama. The Gulf Coast Nature Expo, hosted by the South Alabama Land Trust (SALT), takes place Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Weeks Bay Plantation. This free, family-friendly festival brings together people of all ages to explore the outdoors, connect with local organizations, and experience the natural world in new and exciting ways.
Guests can enjoy a variety of interactive exhibits, from a live raptor show with birds of prey up close to a marine life touch tank where children can explore creatures of the sea. Dozens of conservation groups will present hands-on displays and activities. For those seeking an even deeper experience, tickets will be available for guided tours of local properties important to SALT, as well as scenic boat rides on Weeks Bay, and more.
“Whether you’re a lifelong outdoor enthusiast or simply curious to learn more about our local environment, the Gulf Coast Nature Expo offers a day of exploration, food, music and family fun,” says SALT Communications and Outreach Coordinator, Kori Wilbourn. “Come experience the natural side of coastal Alabama—and leave inspired to protect it for our future generations!”
Admission is free. Learn more at SouthAlabamaLandTrust.org.
