These workshops guide professionals involved in land use issues by providing current and accurate information on wetland regulation, permitting and compliance requirements, and participants earn continuing education credits (CEUs) upon completion.
“Our Wetlands Compliance workshops are a great and affordable way for local lawyers, realtors, planners and engineers to get their CEUs and are also interesting for anyone interested in the topic,” says ACF Executive Director Mark Berte. “Since we have reached classroom capacity in the past, I encourage anyone interested in attending this year’s training to register as soon as they can through our secure website—JoinACF.org—before the spaces fill up.”
At these workshops, professionals learn how to define and identify wetlands, navigate the intricacies of permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and understand state regulations and policies. They also review compliance case studies that illustrate how the process works in practice while gaining professional education on legal and environmental logistics of land development. Participants learn from experts with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Hand Arendall Harrison Sale and Thompson Engineering.
