Five years ago, I had no idea just how much saying “yes” to becoming publisher of Natural Awakenings Gulf Coast would change my life.
What began as an exciting new business venture quickly became something far more meaningful. It has been a privilege to share the stories of practitioners, businesses and individuals making a genuine difference in the health and well-being of our Gulf Coast communities.
Along the way, I’ve formed lasting friendships, forged new connections, and learned more about natural health and healing than I ever imagined. Every issue has reminded me that wellness isn’t just about the choices we make for ourselves—it’s about the communities we create and the people who inspire us to live healthier, more intentional lives.
I’ve often said that this job found me at exactly the right time in my life, and looking back, I know that to be true.
As I step into retirement, my heart is full of gratitude. Thank you to our readers, advertisers, contributors and distribution partners who have supported this publication over the years. Your trust, encouragement and shared passion for healthy living have made this journey one of the greatest blessings of my career. I will always treasure the relationships we’ve built.
While goodbyes are never easy, this one comes with great excitement because I know Natural Awakenings Gulf Coast is in wonderful hands.
Please join me in welcoming Jyn Sage as the magazine’s new publisher. Jyn’s connection to our Gulf Coast runs deep, with roots in Mississippi and a home in Alabama, giving her a unique appreciation for the communities this publication serves. Many of you may already know her through her work as one of our distributors. She also brings extensive experience in business, marketing, retail and B2B relationships.
Most importantly, Jyn’s passion for this mission comes from her own life. Fifteen years ago, embracing a healthier lifestyle transformed her wellness, inspiring a lasting commitment to natural living. That experience has made leading Natural Awakenings Gulf Coast much more than a business opportunity—it is a deeply personal mission.
When she’s not publishing, Jyn enjoys designing and building custom furniture, bringing new life and purpose to overlooked spaces. I believe that creative spirit, paired with her business experience and commitment to natural living, will serve our community well. She looks forward to collaborating with our readers, advertisers and wellness professionals, and I know you’ll make her feel as welcome as you made me.
