J. Douglas Brown, DC, DACNB Neurology, Owner at Mind Performance Center

Treating anxiety, memory issues, dementia, traumatic brain injury, resistant depression and brain disorders using Brain Rehab, BrainsWay Deep TMS and Functional Medicine.

Dr. J. Douglas Brown has a passion for neuroscience. He graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) in 1994 and returned to school in 1999 to begin his study of neurology in both functional medicine and chiropractic arenas. By merging the two fields, he created something brand new to the medical community.

The first to use transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in Alabama, Brown uses new techniques and approaches in the treatment of brain disorders. His use of Dale Bredesen’s ReCode protocol, Deep TMS, is a noninvasive treatment developed by BrainsWay to help alleviate symptoms related to mental health conditions by correcting faulty brain pathways and training new nerve connections.

By merging Deep TMS, Brain Pathway rehab and metabolic enhancement via Functional Medicine, Brown has been successful in alleviating anxiety, memory issues, serious brain trauma and disorders such as dementia, ADD and ADHD and autism in his patients. He works with accident victims, people who can’t speak, people who can’t walk, patients who are suicidal or depressed and with those for whom medicines haven’t worked.

While others put a bandage on the problem, Brown corrects the problem. He has awakened patients from a persistent vegetative state and continues to change the lives of children and adults, ages 5 to 100, when other professionals turn them away without a cure. He recommends that patients come in as soon as symptoms are experienced, rather than waiting.

Along with treating patients at his practice in Foley, Brown also lectures upon request, about brain function, what can go wrong and innovative solutions. “In medicine, drugs are most often not solutions, they are symptom alleviators. What we are doing with the brain now is solution oriented and aimed at targeted results to provide full recovery,” Brown says.
